Professional Development

As part of my commitment to lifelong learning, I actively engage in professional development opportunities. Over the past years, I achieved several teaching-related certificates (Certificate in World Language Teaching, Certificate in Online Teaching, Certificate in Teaching with Technology), as well as several digital badges (Inclusive and Equitable Teaching, Introduction to Learning Analytics for Instructors).

During the Fall 2023 semester I pursued three Level 2 Badges in Inclusive and Equitable Teaching from the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research and the University Equity and Inclusion Office at Rutgers University.  For this purpose, I redesigned the course I was teaching, Advanced Spanish Conversation and Contemporary Issues.

You can find my reflections for the three competencies:

  • Competency 1: Understand and begin to address your and your students’ identities, biases, prejudices, and fears and the impact they have on learning and the classroom environment.

  • Competency 2: Infuse inclusive teaching practices into your educational practices by course re-design or adopting new teaching activities.

  • Competency 3: Ensure course content, web pages, activities, and assessments are accessible to all students.
